Beginner-friendly camping site in Taichung: five-star bathroom facilities, spacious lawns, and a splash pool

Satellite coordinates and elevation information for the campsite.

Take Provincial Highway 8 from Dongshi toward Guguan, turn left at the 19 km mark.

This is the turning point — turn left, please watch out for vehicles ahead.

You’ll see the campsite entrance in about five minutes, please turn left to enter.

Please park in front of the roadblock (signs will guide you).

The main camp office is located uphill — report to the counter nearby to check in and choose your site.

Administrators will be stationed here, and all vehicles must adhere to regulations.

All turns are clearly marked, so please drive with caution.

Let’s first take a look at Grassland Area A.

Area A has space for only six tents, suitable for setting up SP large tents and the like.

The campsite also offers game equipment available for borrowing, so please use them with care.

It’s considered one of the more shaded areas.

The water tank is located under the trees, with nearby streetlights providing convenient illumination at night.

Shooting Area A from Area B upwards offers a unique moonlit ambiance.

Wooden deck Area B can accommodate X14 tent spots.

The flat and clean grass makes for a very comfortable camping experience.

Dishwashing sinks are placed behind the campsite spots — there are many of them.

Low-luminance streetlights are placed around the edges of the campsite for easy nighttime navigation.

There is space behind each campsite spot to set up living room tents and the like.

This week, the weather was extremely poor for two consecutive nights, so photos were taken more based on feel.

Area C serves as the camp headquarters area, with an attached beverage station and camping gear rental services.

It also offers take-out services for beverages and snacks, which is very thoughtful.

At night, the area is brightly lit, and the trees are equipped with flowing LED lighting, creating a lively atmosphere.

Area C is also where the restroom and toilet facilities are located.

The clean corridor space is quite convenient for people with mobility challenges.

Bright, considerate, and clean toilets are, of course, essential.

Both squat and seated toilets are available (toilet paper provided).

The women’s restroom is similarly designed, with a hairdryer provided.

It also includes a large restroom stall designed for people with disabilities (equipped with a seat).

The shower area also features dedicated space for neatly storing clothes, designed for convenience.

Area D is also a large space planned for 14 tents.

After unloading gear, vehicles must be parked next to the campsite spot and must follow regulations without obstructing others.

There is also ample space behind the campsite spots for cooking.

However, most campers still prefer to set up living room tents and the like at the front.

The view in Area D is quite nice, with distant views of the mountainous terrain along the Dajia River basin.

The dimensions of the wooden deck platforms are: 3.6M x 3.6M — please take note (the central gravel area is for vehicle access).

The spatial arrangement and well-manicured turf in Zone D are my favorite part of the site.

The large camping spots are really comfortable—just setting up for a casual night under the stars is absolutely wonderful.

Perfect for group camping in a small community area, the vast open space is more than enough for fun activities.

Under the soft lighting, it must be a great place for a good night’s sleep.

There are multiple sinks and 110V power outlets under the sink, each with considerate street lamp lighting.

Now let’s take a look at Zone E of the large camping area.

The most unique feature of this block is that vehicles can be parked right in front of the camping spots—camping enthusiasts will love this section.

The large camping spots are neatly arranged with immaculately clean turf.

There are ample large sinks available.

It’s also a great spot for small group camping (closest to the restroom and shower area—super convenient).

On the other side, photography enthusiasts can choose this spot to capture photos with the traditional gassho-style houses in the frame.

A relaxed evening, chatting with friends and sipping a drink under the night breeze.

That’s the simple joy of camping.

Right next to Zone E, there’s also a thoughtfully set-up restroom and shower area.

Male and female facilities are separated, and the lighting is sufficient.

The men’s section is super clean with no unpleasant odors.

The women’s restroom is clean, spacious, and very comfortable without feeling cramped.

The showers are the same as those at the main camp office (but please note that some do not come with toiletries).

Finally, let’s introduce the largest section of the campsite—Zone F, the grassland area.

The entire grassy field is designated for setting up approximately X 12 tents (all kinds of large tents are suitable). The rest of the space is exclusively for kids to run and play.

There are only two sinks near the grassland camping spots, which feels a bit insufficient for 12 tents.

The central area of the camping zone is for setting up tents—please follow the campsite’s instructions for placement, as all power outlets are located here.

A space as large as several basketball courts is freely available for recreation—the camp owner is truly generous.

You can also see distant mountain mist and cascading clouds from within the campsite.

During hunting season, there’s nothing better than laughter under the open sky and a wild run through nature.

And there’s my own nighttime adventure through the misty fantasy.
