Affected by the typhoon, multiple landslides and roadbed collapses occurred in Taroko, impacting the opening status of popular hidden trails. The world-renowned and highly popular Baiyang Trail, a must-visit attraction, was damaged after Typhoon Megi, with a 0.8K section collapsing and severe roadbed loss. There were also numerous falling rocks along the trail, leading to its closure and management control. After five months of repairs, it reopened at the end of June 2016, but now has been temporarily closed again. Other trails such as the Chongde Trail and the Jioufang Cave Trail have also been closed due to typhoon damage.

The Xiaozhuiyu Trail, Buluowan Scenic Trail, and Huide Trail (scenic road) are all partially open
