Boys Go Wild Too!: Banqiao’s Ultra-Romantic Sports Spot with a Dreamy Rainbow Staircase

This place isn’t just for sports—it’s also super photogenic too. Unlike other sports fields with their monotonous color schemes, Banqiao First Stadium painted its grandstand stairs in a riot of vibrant rainbow hues, instantly brightening up the entire venue. In addition to enjoying the thrill of working up a sweat on the field, the rainbow staircase surrounding the stadium transforms the sports ground into an ultra-romantic destination, filling the air with a burst of vivid colors. It's not just girls, but boys are also flocking here to take photos.

Banqiao First Stadium, home to the dreamy rainbow staircase, was built in 1987 (the 76th year of the Republic of China) to host the Taiwan Provincial Games when Taipei County was the organizer. It also underwent renovations in 2003 (the 92nd year of the Republic of China) for the National Games. The stadium covers a total area of 44,576 square meters, featuring 30,000 spectator seats, 800 VIP seats, and a 400-meter PU track that meets international standards.

In addition to the main field, the stadium also houses a table tennis classroom, weight training room, weightlifting center, and basketball courts, making it suitable for a variety of sports such as track and field, soccer, and croquet. The facility is equipped with four sets of night lighting to accommodate evening workouts, along with 250 parking spaces and 35 dedicated dormitories with a total of 210 beds for athletes to rest and recharge.

Having hosted numerous sports competitions and performances, Banqiao First Stadium will also serve as the venue for the women’s soccer finals at the 2017 Taipei Universiade. Athletes from around the world will get to witness this colorful sports ground.
