The Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau revealed that the “Family Trip” hand-drawn map foldout, launched this October, was specially designed with the help of well-known illustrator and writer Xu Mei-yi, who handled both the overall map planning and the text layout. A multi-talented essayist, cartoonist, and lyricist, Xu has been beloved by those born in the 1960s and 70s since the publication of her “Diary Exchange” series. With her keen observations and delicate writing style, she turns ordinary daily moments into something vivid and delightful. Now based in Tainan and holding deep affection for the city's rich cultural landscape, Xu brought personal insight into planning a trip with family members—where many factors must be considered. In designing the itinerary, she prioritized locations that are easily accessible for all family members, including seniors who may have mobility issues or health concerns. Her goal is for everyone, young and old, to enjoy a worry-free and fulfilling trip. Come explore Tainan with her and create sweet memories as a family.

The illustrator’s hand-drawn map foldout titled “Family Trip” has been available for free since Friday, October 28th. The public is welcome to pick up a copy at any Tainan City tourist service center, Yonghua and Minzhi Municipal Joint Service Centers.
