First November snowfall in Tokyo in 54 years

In past records, Tokyo had its earliest snowfall on November 17 in 1900. At around 6:15 a.m. on November 24, 2016, the first snow of the year was observed in Otemachi, Tokyo — the first November snowfall in 54 years since 1962. Snow accumulation across various regions on November 24 included: Karuizawa 22 cm, Kawaguchiko Town in Yamanashi Prefecture 20 cm, Nikko City in Tochigi Prefecture 11 cm, and Chiba Prefecture 2 cm.
