The Taiping Mountain National Forest Recreation Area in Yilan boasts precious cypress resources. Influenced year-round by the Pacific Ocean winds and the northeastern monsoon, the area enjoys abundant rainfall and is often shrouded in mist and rain — a cradle for these rare tree species.
