Japan’s popular queued-up dessert Zakuzaku puff pastry arrives in Taiwan

This time, Zakuzaku’s stick-shaped puffs make their Taiwan debut in the food battleground of Xinyi District, located at A11, New Taipei City ShinYi XinTianDi, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The opening is scheduled for December 23.

The brand emphasizes offering one specialty item per store, so its main outlets only sell puffs. However, the Harajuku and Ikebukuro Tobu stores also offer ice cream, which is a limited item for those locations. In Japan, the puff’s single serving is priced at 250 yen (tax included), while a pack of six is 1250 yen (tax included).

"Zakuzaku" (ザクザク) has four branches in Tokyo (Shinjuku, Harajuku, Kamata, and Ikebukuro Tobu), and its first overseas store has been set up in Taiwan. The brand is eyeing the potential of Taiwan’s dessert market, and its Christmas-season opening coincides with the peak sales period for sweets. Those who want to try it may need to line up early.
