To help travelers plan their trips earlier, the official Shirakawa-go website has finally announced the Gassho Village illumination dates for Heisei 29 (2017), which are January 22–23, January 29–30, and February 5–6, totaling six days. During this time, the village will be blanketed in silver-white, shimmering under the warm glow of starry lights, presenting an indescribably breathtaking sight. Travelers who wish to experience this can start planning now.
