Taipei’s New Year’s Eve party unveils an all-star “national treasure” hosting lineup and MR tech to wow the crowds

As the countdown to the New Year’s Eve party begins, the areas around Taipei City Hall and the Xinyi District have been beautifully decked out. Various installations, Christmas trees, lights, and special events are already underway. On the night itself, the countdown fireworks and light show from Taipei 101 will create a uniquely festive and warm atmosphere in Taipei, drawing many domestic and international tourists every year.

In terms of stage performances, the “diva of song” A-Lin will deliver concert-level performances, rock legend Wu Bai will premiere new songs from his upcoming album, and chart-topping group 911 will unveil newly created content and song arrangements to get everyone dancing and celebrating the end of the year together. Other unforgettable superstars include SpeXial, 831, J. Zhou, Blackie Chen, Amber An, Koharu Kusumi, and GTM, all set to bring the unique vibe and energy of Taipei to the crowd.

This year’s countdown gala will be hosted by the “ultimate national treasure” duo, Jacky Wu and Barbie Hsu, making their first-ever appearance together as hosts of Taipei’s New Year’s Eve celebration. The show will also feature a mystery guest using the latest MR (Mixed Reality) technology to accompany audiences in enjoying the Taipei 101 fireworks, bringing a fresh twist to the 2017 countdown experience. Attendees are encouraged to use public transportation and stay alert to traffic control measures during the event. While enjoying the show and fireworks, please remember to keep safety in mind.
