The ultra-stylish new government building attraction: the Civic Activity Center is a real eye-catcher

Community revitalization in Taiwan continues to innovate, with everything from themed parks to alleyway murals showcasing local residents’ care and dedication to their environment. The Xiàfú Lǐ Civic Activity Center in Linkou was built using local feedback funds and was designed in collaboration with a Spanish architect and hisIMOteam, who drew inspiration from the ornate roof ridges of local temples. They skillfully incorporated traditional temple roof tiles and the yin-yang angles of water spouts into the building’s silhouette, while also utilizing the design team’s expertise in Western light and shadow techniques. This approach completely redefines the conventional image of civic centers, delivering a fresh take on a century-old tradition.
