Over a thousand pieces of century-old luxury antiques – Taichung’s new attraction, the Western Museum

A long-established wedding banquet venue in Taichung may not be unfamiliar to locals, but it has now been transformed into a Western antique museum. The New World Club in East District, Taichung, has been renovated into a dazzlingly opulent museum, not only changing its exterior into a bright white tone full of Western style, but also transforming its interior decor to resemble a classical European castle. Inside, there are over a thousand privately collected items, featuring twenty major Western antique themes with a total market value of hundreds of millions, sourced from auctions such as Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Recently renovated and newly opened, it covers an area of more than 700 ping (approximately 2,310 square meters), with a French restaurant on the first floor, and a Hong Kong-style dim sum and wedding banquet venue on the second floor. The intricate ceiling paintings are breathtaking. Currently, entry is free and will remain so until January 27. Visitors are encouraged to seize the opportunity to check it out.
