Official Launch of the Airport MRT & Free Trial Ride Method

The Taoyuan Airport MRT officially launched on February 2 and will operate in a one-month trial period, allowing passengers to ride for free. The trial period is divided into two stages: the first two weeks are for group trial rides, and the following two weeks allow for free individual rides. It will officially open on March 2, with ticket prices discounted by 50% for the first month. Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan and Council Speaker Chiu Yi-sheng rode the inaugural train from A21 Zhongli Huanbei Station to Taipei Station, marking the beginning of a new era in transportation connectivity between Taipei, New Taipei, and Taoyuan.

During the group trial period, only designated groups may ride, entering and exiting only at A1 Taipei Station, A3 New Taipei Industrial Park Station, A8 Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station, A10 Shanbi Station, A18 Taoyuan HSR Station, and A21 Huanbei Station. For the public free trial rides starting February 16, riding hours are daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. No reservation is needed; simply visit any of the 21 MRT stations to draw a number and gain free access to all stations for the day. Numbered tickets are issued at each station at four specific times daily: 7:40, 9:40, 11:40, and 13:40.
