Starbucks’ limited-edition cherry blossom cups are Japan’s most frenzied annual shopping craze

Starbucks Japan’s ultra-popular limited-edition cherry blossom cups are a highly sought-after item every year. Whether you fly to Japan in person or ask someone to buy them for you, as soon as cherry blossom season arrives, they become an essential small item for collectors and cherry blossom lovers. This year, Starbucks Japan has also launched two series of cherry blossom cups. The first is the vibrant and colorful Harmony series, featuring 17 designs, which went on sale on February 15. The second is the soft and elegant Purity series, with 16 designs, available from March 1. Each series includes merchandise such as mugs, thermoses, tumblers, and gift cards.

Starbucks Japan will also release seasonal limited-edition drinks this year. This year’s seasonal beverages are the Sakura Crisp Frappuccino and Sakura Crisp Latte, both featuring a pink-and-white gradient that evokes the romantic image of cherry blossoms — perfect for photos.

Due to the popularity of these limited-edition items, as is typical in past years, it becomes quite difficult to get them just two or three days after their release.
