China Airlines increases San Francisco flights to 9 weekly from May 14, starting at NT$23,000 with A350 new aircraft & taxes included

Attention friends planning to visit San Francisco, USA！ Starting May 14, 2017, China Airlines will increase its San Francisco flights from 7 to 9 per week. To celebrate the increase, from now until April 30,the official websiteis offering round-trip economy class fares from Taipei to San Francisco with taxes included, starting at NT$22,439, for specified departure dates: May 14, 18, 21, 25, 28, and June 1, 4, 8.

China Airlines stated that starting June 28, the frequency will further increase to 11 flights per week. For departure dates ranging from now until June 17, and from September 1 to December 31, economy class fares with taxes included start at NT$26,039. Booking on China Airlines’ official website and entering the promo code SFO11 will entitle you to a 5% discount on all cabin classes.

The newly added flight numbers are CI016 direct from Taipei to San Francisco, departing at 18:00 and arriving at 14:25 in San Francisco; the return flight is CI015, departing San Francisco at 16:50 and arriving in Taipei at 21:10 the next day.

It’s worth mentioning that flights after May 14 will be operated by the world’s latest aircraft, the Airbus A350, which boasts being “the most technologically advanced, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, spacious, and quiet.” Passengers can enjoy the newest and most comfortable service with frequent flights at promotional prices.

Currently, China Airlines operates the Boeing 777 on the San Francisco route, which is also a high-performance aircraft with an age of under 3 years. Since aircraft require a Level C major overhaul when they reach 3 years old—each taking 2 to 3 weeks in the hangar—the A350 will seamlessly fill the gap. In the future, the 777s will be used for opening new routes and increasing frequencies as needed.
