Located in Meinong District, Kaohsiung, Zhongzheng Lake was built in the 13th year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign during the Qing Dynasty (1748), boasting nearly 300 years of history. Here, you can take in the sweeping mountain ridges and crystal-clear waters, surrounded by lush and vibrant plant life. Additionally, from October to March each year, the lake becomes home to a large number of migratory birds — over 60 species — making it an ideal spot for birdwatching and conservation. In 2016, environmental facilities around the lake and landscaping improvements on the eastern side were completed, connecting the entire loop path and cycling trails so visitors can fully enjoy the lake’s scenic beauty.
