The Frozen Beauty of the Wilderness Mountains: Taiwan’s Magical High Mountain Wonders

Taiwan is located between the subtropical and tropical monsoon climate zones. Due to its relatively low latitude, snowfall is a rare sight, and records of snow in the lowlands are virtually nonexistent. The only chance to see snow is during the coldest period of winter, when you can head to high-altitude mountain areas such as Yushan, Snow Mountain, Hehuan Mountain, and others. Near Wuling Farm, there are many high mountains. In addition to the most popular Main-East Route of Snow Mountain, which starts from here, many other high peaks also begin their trails from Wuling Farm. Among them, the most classic is the Wuling Four Beauties trekking route. The Wuling Four Beauties are four high mountains aligned along the northern edge of Wuling Farm, listed from west to east as follows: Pintian Mountain (3,524 meters), Chiyou Mountain (3,303 meters), Taoshan (3,325 meters), and Kalayeh Mountain (3,133 meters). During the cold winter season, these spots offer stunning snowy vistas with breathtaking frozen landscapes that leave hikers in awe at first glance.
