Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Green Tunnel Leads to a Magical Mirror Garden

Walking along the endless green avenue, the fantastical scenery feels like stepping into Alice in Wonderland. Located along Provincial Highway 174 in Xuejia District, Tainan City, the towering trees lining the road—small-leaved Lagerstroemia—are sprouting fresh leaves, forming a verdant tunnel. The intertwined greenery allows sunlight to stream through the gaps during the day, casting a magical glow that captivates visitors, prompting them to stop and take photos.

The small-leaved Lagerstroemia trees along Section 174 in Xuejia feature the longest stretch, extending over 500 meters, as well as the densest canopy. Planted 20 years ago with minimal human interference, the trees grow straight and neatly aligned, making this spot highly worthwhile to visit and perfect for a leisurely bike ride beneath the canopy.
