Starbucks Opens in Penghu with Island-Themed Travel Commemorative Cup

In response to local anticipation, Uni-President Starbucks’ “Penghu Sheraton Branch” grandly opened on March 18, becoming the chain’s 410th outlet. The “Penghu Sheraton Branch” is located on the first floor of the five-star “Four Points by Sheraton Penghu” hotel, situated along Xindian Road. The store features a large artistic wall as its highlight, conceptualized around the story of “Moby Dick,” presenting a nautical-themed world map of coffee art. Through hand-painted techniques and incorporating local materials—specifically “fishing nets”—the design emphasizes the coffee-growing zones, along with elements from the story such as coffee cherries, mermaids, wind gods, coffee beans, compasses, measuring instruments, sea monsters, coffee flowers, anchors, sailing ships, and the great white whale... Visitors are greeted with these thoughtful details as soon as they step inside.

Upon entering, the coffee bar is positioned at the center of the space, surrounded by seating on all sides. The color scheme is dominated by teak and fog black, accented with variously shaped wooden strips, specially textured paint, and a gradient print of mermaid scale patterns to emphasize a natural, handmade tactile feel.
