A man's Seoul trip: Elegant moments with apple latte at AVEC EL

After returning from Seoul, the first place I couldn’t wait to introduce

isAVEC ELSHOP & CAFE.

AVEC ELIt all started as a lifestyle clothing online brand

run by Korean designer Rozi and her husband.

Then, in May of the year before last, they opened

AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE, a curated café and dessert shop, on a small hillside road not far from their brand studio.

The signature fruit latte series has made AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE so popular

that even on regular weekdays, there’s a long line.

Even though it’s located on a winding hillside in a residential area,

Seoul locals—both men and women—are more than willing to make the climb, and this apple charm is sure to continue into 2017.

AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE is housed in a simple cottage reached by stone steps.

A white veil-like curtain gently hangs in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.

We always love such clean spaces with comfortable natural light

and subtle lighting accents.

One corner of the shop features AVEC EL-branded lifestyle items and clothing that match the café’s vibe.

In addition, you’ll find various plants and flower arrangements thoughtfully placed by the owners, along with candle holders used during the day.

On AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE’s pink chiffon cake sits a layer of soft whipped cream.

A few frozen raspberries and green leaves are simply placed on top, and finally, a romantic dusting of powdered sugar that falls like snow.

The raspberry chiffon cake paired with whipped cream is sweet, moist, and smooth.

A small apple slice, shaped like a flower, floats on the milk foam, with the milk infused with apple aroma.

Inside, there are slices of apple that have been cooked but remain firm.

It’s a caffeine-free, sweet latte-style drink—their signature fruit latte series.

There are also options like citrus latte and cherry latte.
