Two Japanese airports rank among the world's top ten airports

In the latest rankings released by the renowned UK aviation service survey organization SKYTRAX, Singapore Changi Airport has retained the No. 1 position. Japan had two airports on the list: Tokyo Haneda Airport and Nagoya Chubu Centrair International Airport. Other Asian entries included Hong Kong and South Korea’s Incheon Airport, along with airports from Germany, the UK, and Switzerland. Notably, three German airports made the list, ranking fourth, sixth, and tenth.

Singapore Changi Airport has won the top spot for five consecutive years and has been on the list for eight years in total. Its internal service facilities are highly comprehensive—it’s practically a small holiday resort shopping mall. It’s so appealing that you could easily treat it as a tourist attraction in itself. The airport houses a cinema, spa, shopping center, and even a rooftop observation pool. The addition of the brand-new Terminal 4 has further improved flight operations. The top airport hotel award also went to Changi’s Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Taoyuan Airport was ranked third globally in airport traffic (for airports handling 30–40 million passengers) in 2016 and ranked 17th in the Top 100 Airports list that year. Although it failed to make the top ten in 2017, coming in at 21st, it still claimed first place in the staff service category.
