Plan ahead for Labor Day holiday: Early bird high-speed rail tickets & added services

Taiwan High Speed Rail has planned transport services for the 3-day Labor Day holiday in 2017, from April 28 (Fri) to May 2 (Tue). During this period, 52 additional train services will be operated (20 southbound and 32 northbound), with a total of 765 train services available over the 5 days. Starting from midnight on April 1 (Sat), passengers can purchase tickets for the Labor Day holiday in advance through convenience stores partnered with the high-speed rail, online booking systems, the T Express mobile ticketing app, the voice reservation system, or at ticket counters and ticket vending machines at stations during business hours.

Based on the expected travel demand during the Labor Day holiday, THSR has allocated 3 to 5 non-reserved cars on each service. Considering the large crowds during this period, passengers departing from Taipei Station are advised to arrive early. Elderly passengers or those needing assistance are encouraged to call the THSR customer service center in advance to apply for the "Riding Guidance Service" (for details, please refer to the THSR corporate website). THSR will provide dedicated personnel to assist. Additionally, passengers traveling to or from areas such as Neihu, Nangang, Songshan, Xinyi, Xizhi, Keelung, and Yilan are advised to use Nangang Station for boarding and alighting to save valuable time.

A total of 398 train services during the Labor Day holiday are eligible for the "Early Bird Discount," accounting for about 52% of the total services during the transport period. Passengers who book tickets 5 to 28 days before their travel date may enjoy discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90% off. In addition, some services also offer the "University Student Discount."

 During the transport period, the "Standard Car KAR Card Discount" and "Business Car Limited Upgrade" promotions will apply; the "Off-Peak Weekday Discount," "Groups of 25 or More," and "School Excursion" promotions are not applicable.
