Wanping Wisteria Café Garden – A Perfect Spot for Spring Picnics

The pink-hued cherry blossom season is drawing to a close. As spring warms the air and flowers bloom, the purple romance of wisteria flowers takes over. Tamsui’s Wisteria Café Garden, Taiwan’s largest wisteria garden, features stunning wisteria pergolas, a variety of colorful flowers, and Taiwan’s largest collection of Moai statues, attracting numerous visitors. In 2016, the Wisteria Café Garden opened its second branch near Tamsui’s Tianyuan Temple. Built by owner Mr. Lai over five years, it boasts an even larger and equally spectacular wisteria garden. The second branch is about a 10-minute drive from Tianyuan Temple, covering approximately 10,000 pyeong (about 33,000 square meters), with its blooming season lasting from late March to May. This vast purple wonderland also draws many visitors for flower pilgrimages.
