The hit scenes from "The Teenage Psychic" spark discussion as the HBO Taiwan series goes viral

The TV mini-series *The Teenage Psychic*, jointly produced by Public Television Service Taiwan and HBO Asia, is HBO's first TV production filmed and entirely dubbed in Mandarin in Taiwan. Set against the backdrop of Taiwan’s temple culture, it tells the coming-of-age story of a teenage psychic. The series not only received high praise in Taiwan but also achieved strong viewership and acclaim internationally. Thanks to its Taiwan-based filming locations, the show’s popularity has turned many of its settings into popular photo spots, such as the main psychic service location — Xizhi Jide Temple, and the home of the female lead Xie Yazhen — Zhongxin New Village. Scenes related to school life were primarily filmed at Taipei Municipal Fuxing Senior High School and the sports field of Taipei Municipal Shilin Commercial High School.

Home of the female lead Xie Yazhen — Zhongxin New Village
Zhongxin New Village is Taiwan’s only hot spring military doctor military dependents’ village and the only one in Taipei City that has been entirely preserved. It is one of the 13 military dependents’ villages under the preservation project of the Ministry of National Defense and was registered in 2011 as one of Taiwan’s 12 historical settlements. Its architecture and atmosphere reflect life from the post-retrocession period through the 1980s.
