Seasonal Iris Flower Sea Blooms Only in Brilliant Sunshine

As spring arrives and flowers of all kinds burst into bloom, this most delightful season is perfect for going outdoors to enjoy nature. The delicate and lovely iris flowers—radiant blooms in shades of pink, purple, and yellow—are often planted near water features, ponds, or along garden paths. They have a rather short lifespan and are sun-loving plants, so they can only be seen during bright, sunny hours. If you come too early, the iris flowers haven't opened yet; if you arrive too late, they’ve already closed up. Currently, at Xianglin Elementary School in Alishan, tens of millions of iris blossoms are in full, vibrant bloom. They’re not featured in the forest recreation area’s brochure or marked on any trail signs—you can only see them at Xianglin Elementary School.

In recent years, the irises at Xianglin Elementary School have grown rapidly, with the blooming area expanding year after year. The peak blooming season is now underway and is expected to last until June. There are no fences here—visitors are welcome to come admire the flowers—but we also urge everyone to help keep the school environment clean.
