The hydrangeas, bursting into bloom like vibrant floral orbs, create lush, densely packed seas of flowers that attract numerous visitors eager to witness their beauty. Hydrangeas are common ornamental garden flowers available in red, blue, and purple hues, which can change color depending on the acidity or alkalinity of their environment, resulting in a dazzling array of vivid colors. Their blooming season is approximately from May to August, and they are also often used to make dried flowers. Below is a list of nine hydrangea spots across Taiwan that are well worth visiting, each bursting forth like a colorful ball, leaving you in a bright and cheerful mood after your visit.

Hsinchu Guanxi – Taiwan Flower and Bird Garden

Former Taipei County Magistrate Chou Hsi-wei personally established Taiwan’s first “Flower and Bird Garden,” a flatland temperate garden, in Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County. The garden not only cultivates common outdoor flowering plants native to the island but also introduces unique flower varieties from Japan that are renowned worldwide. The garden is home to tens of thousands of hydrangeas. On May 22, this year’s hydrangea season was unveiled, and it also marked the official opening of the Taiwan Flower and Bird Garden on May 26.
