On the Dragon Boat Festival (May 30), southern cloud systems will move northward, bringing scattered brief showers across Taiwan in the afternoon. On Wednesday, May 31 (a workday), the southwest monsoon will strengthen, resulting in localized brief showers or thunderstorms in the south and eastern parts, and also localized brief showers in areas north of central Taiwan in the early morning. In the afternoon, there is a chance of scattered thunderstorms across the island, with a possibility of localized heavy rain.

On June 1 and 2, influenced by the southwest monsoon and a frontal system, there is a risk of localized heavy or torrential rain. On June 1, there will be showers or thunderstorms in central and southern Taiwan, while other regions may experience brief showers or thunderstorms. On June 2, showers or thunderstorms are expected across the island. From June 3 to 5, the lingering frontal system will continue to pose a risk of localized heavy or torrential rain, with showers or thunderstorms possible everywhere. On June 1 and 2, low clouds may affect visibility in the Matsu Islands, and there is a chance of foehn winds in the southeastern region—stay alert.
This week, temperatures across Taiwan will range between 22–30°C, with higher temperatures the further south you go. However, the central region may see maximum temperatures reach 31°C on May 31 and June 1. With rainy conditions throughout the week, and especially poor weekend weather, remember to carry rain gear for any outings or travel.
