The new sunset attraction is a sensation even before its official opening — the 17-kilometer Fishing Harbor Sea-viewing Platform

Hsinchu City's Haishan Fishing Harbor serves both tourism and recreational purposes as well as fishing functions. To enhance the overall facility environment, NT$12 million was invested in a landscape improvement project. Most facilities have entered the final stages of completion and were launched in August. In addition to improving fishing facilities, practical, durable, and aesthetically pleasing mooring posts have been installed for fishermen. A sea-facing viewing platform and scenic promenade have also been created, offering visitors a comfortable space to enjoy the ocean view and watch the sunset.

Haishan Fishing Harbor is an important node along the 17-kilometer coastline scenic “Blue Ribbon.” In addition to the harbor’s improvement project, investments have also been made in landscaping along the entire shoreline, providing visitors with a high-quality coastal leisure environment.

The Haishan Fishing Harbor project was launched in August and is connected via the 17-kilometer bike path to Xiangshan Wetland, making Hsinchu City’s coastal tourism resources more abundant and complete.

Since the Haishan Fishing Harbor is located right next to the fish auction site, freshly caught seafood often sells out as soon as it’s landed — a must-try “just-caught” experience for tourists. The intertidal zone near the harbor offers different scenic views depending on the tide. During low tide, you can observe the wetland intertidal ecology; during high tide, enjoy watching fishing boats entering and leaving the harbor as well as the stunning sunset. Visitors can immerse themselves in the marine atmosphere and ecological beauty.
