Limited-time free admission 2017 Hac Sa Art Festival

The highlight of Kaohsiung’s summer, the “2017 Cijin Hac Sa Art Festival,” grandly kicked off on July 8th at the beach of Cijin Bathing Beach, attracting both domestic and international visitors every year. Here you can enjoy beautiful coastal scenery, amazing sand sculpture creations, goods and specialty markets created by Kaohsiung artists. This year’s theme for the Hac Sa Art Festival is “Mermaids Meet Cijin. Dazzling Kaohsiung,” with sand sculptures mainly themed around mermaids, featuring a total of 17 themed sand sculptures, 20 competitive sand sculptures, and 3 driftwood art displays. The event runs until August 27th and admission is free.

In addition to enjoying the sand sculptures, you can also fly kites, play volleyball, surf, try your hand at sand sculpture making, join the moonlit beach fun run, listen to indigenous performances, and in the evening, there are outdoor movies. Enjoy delicious seafood dishes and street snacks along Cijin Main Street paired with beer for a truly delightful experience.
