The most anticipated "2017 New Taipei City Children's Art Festival" for both kids and adults will take place at the New Taipei City Civic Square from August 4 to August 13. This year’s festival, themed "Welcome to Monster Island," will transform the civic square into a whimsical playground filled with monsters. Six original monsters created in New Taipei will lead everyone on an adventure through Monster Island. Come embark on a fun and unique children’s art journey together.

The six original New Taipei monsters: the Light Monster from Jiufen, the Music Monster who loves Gongliao, the Brush Monster from Pinglin, the Clay Monster hiding in Yingge, the Cement Monster born in Bali, and the Book Monster living in a historic site. They will guide children through six major art experiences—including performance, music, painting, sculpture, architecture, and literature—through games.

Additionally, six major museums in New Taipei City have joined the Children's Art Festival this year, ensuring parents and children can play everywhere they go. The museums will offer over 10 local-characteristic mini-games, helping children learn about the unique culture of their hometown.

The most special feature of this year’s Children's Art Festival is the new "Tech Art Experience Zone," showcasing the latest AR and VR games. Featuring games like "Back to Jurassic," it introduces augmented reality (AR) experiences produced by a professional UK team. Using digital technology, realistic dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus rex, Pteranodons, and Brachiosauruses are brought to life. With a 360-degree immersive virtual world experience, kids and adults can interact with and take photos of dinosaurs, fulfilling their inner dinosaur dreams.
