Don’t just visit the Gongliao Sea Festival—explore the breathtaking mountains and sea of Northeast Taiwan in one day

New Taipei City’s Gongliao District boasts some of the most stunning coastal scenery in all of Taiwan, including the uniquely shaped rocks of “Nanya Rock Formations” eroded by sea winds; at “Longdong Bay Marine Park,” you can swim alongside marine life and enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving; stroll through the seafood street at “Aodi Fishing Port” to savor local delicacies; and at “Fulong Beach,” you can splash in the cool waters and relax on golden sands—a perfect spot to soak up summer energy. This is also the venue for Taiwan’s largest international marine music festival in northern Taiwan. Below is a recommended one-day itinerary for Northeast Taiwan.

Transportation Info: Take the train to “Ruifang Station.” After exiting, walk toward “Ruifang Police Station,” and at the intersection of “Mingquan Street” and “Mingdeng Road Section 3,” take bus 856 (Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Golden Fulong Line) and get off at “Nanya Nanxin Temple Station.”
