Super viral influencer spot: 3.5-meter-tall badminton swing appears in Kaohsiung

The 3.5-meter-tall badminton swing made its debut today at Kaohsiung’s Big City Taoyuan Mall, drawing public attention. Many took out their phones to snap photos and check in on Facebook and Instagram, instantly turning it into a super viral influencer spot. It turns out this is part of the promotional campaign for the “Jays Cup All-Star Badminton Challenge.” The installation will be available for photo ops until tomorrow before moving on to Taichung’s Caotun Boulevard Square and Taipei’s Vieshow Plaza for rotating exhibitions.

U.S.-based Jays Global Group invited world champions from Malaysia, Denmark, and China, along with world No. 1 female player Tai Tzu-ying and Wang Ziw ei, to Taiwan last year to host the first “Jays Cup All-Star Badminton Challenge,” which received positive feedback. Following continued advocacy from badminton enthusiasts across Taiwan after the event, the second edition of the “Jays Cup All-Star Badminton Challenge” was officially confirmed, with promotional activities kicking off today in Kaohsiung.

Wang Ziw ei had just finished the “Vodafone India Super Series” and, without even sleeping, endured a 12-hour flight to arrive in Taiwan. He said that although he was extremely tired and would have to fly to Kuala Lumpur immediately after the event to compete in the Malaysian Masters, he chose to give up rest time and come back from India specifically to support the promotion of the “Jays Cup All-Star Badminton Challenge,” an event that will continue to be held in Taiwan.

Wang Ziw ei engaged in a prize quiz with fans, giving out signed balls and even helping participants take swings on the giant badminton swing as part of the challenge game. His friendly interaction with the public was warmly welcomed.

U.S.-based Jays Global Group created this 3.5-meter-tall, 4-meter-wide structure, dubbed “the tallest outdoor three-dimensional badminton-shaped swing in Asia,” for the public to take photos, experience, and enjoy. It will next appear at Taichung’s Caotun Boulevard Square from January 20–21 and Taipei’s Vieshow Plaza from January 27–28. This art installation is expected to spark another wave of check-in fever.

The event site also featured a “limited-edition dreamy drinks bar,” where those who successfully challenged the badminton swing could redeem a free drink. The colorful beverages attracted long lines of people eager for both visual and taste experiences.

In addition to the badminton swing and the dreamy drinks bar, today’s experience event also launched a “Take a Photo, Share Online, and Win an iPhone 8” campaign. Participants could take photos and upload them to the Jays Global official Fan Page Fun Life event page. After the event, one lucky winner will be selected to receive a special prize: an iPhone 8. This lets the public find fun in daily life, capture exciting moments, and enjoy the feeling that the whole city is their playground.
