Multimedia Technology Fantasy Scene: Taitung Ocean Dream Museum Opens

Taitung region has a new family-friendly travel destination this summer vacation. The media ocean art exhibition hall “Taitung Ocean Dream Museum,” which combines ecology, art, and technology, has officially opened. Breaking away from the traditional image of aquariums—where you simply look at fish in tanks—Taitung’s “Ocean Dream Museum” uses cutting-edge multimedia interactive technology to make visitors feel like they’ve transformed into mermaids as soon as they step inside. The immersive ocean-themed atmosphere makes you feel as if you’re deep under the sea.

The beloved clownfish, whose market demand has surged due to the popularity of related movies, has led to overfishing and, coupled with environmental pollution, has impacted marine ecology. The Fisheries Research Institute began investing in research and development for artificial breeding techniques of clownfish. Carrying on this mission, Taitung Ocean Dream Museum collaborates with the institute to become the aquarium with the most artificially bred clownfish species in the world.

In addition to showcasing a spectacular array of over a hundred fish species, the museum also features three major high-tech interactive game zones. Children visiting the museum can engage not just their eyes but also their hands and feet. The multimedia interactive zones include “The Consciousness Cabin Entering Sea Dreams,” “The Tunnel of Intertwined Dreams,” and “The Blooming Sea Dreams.” Visitors can jump along with the fish projections on the floor and even project their own creative artwork onto the grand ocean show, making the intellectually engaging and fun Ocean Dream Museum a unique summer experience.

From July 26 to August 31, purchase tickets on-site to enjoy a “Buy One Adult, Get One Free” deal for just NT$290 (buy one full-price ticket and get one discounted or one complimentary ticket), plus receive either a guided tour of the Xingang Church Xinzhong Architecture or a cup of coffee or floral tea (choose one).
