Below are five beautifully enchanting sights, including natural landscapes and historic ruins, which visitors can explore on a one- to two-day trip to experience the diverse beauty of Kaohsiung.

1. Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park
 
Nicknamed the “urban version of Waterfront Central,” Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park covers a vast area of over 7,000 square meters, connecting Kaohsiung’s urban ecological green corridor. The park uses eco-engineering techniques to build slopes, recreating the rich ecological habitat of the early wetlands.

The park features log-built visitor centers, wooden pavilions, suspension bridges, tidal water platforms, and lighting and seating designed around driftwood themes. The rustic design exudes a wild charm, while the multi-layered, nature-inspired plantings bring a rich forest atmosphere back to the urban area.

2. Naval Mingde Training Class (Fengshan Wireless Telegraph Station)
 
Located in Fengshan, the Naval Mingde Training Class was formerly the “Japanese Navy Fengshan Wireless Telegraph Station” and later became an important military base after the Nationalist government relocated to Taiwan. The site is designated as a national military heritage landmark and served as a key military communications hub during World War II. It has also been featured in movies and TV dramas, attracting many visitors.

3. Fengshan Presbyterian Church
 
Fengshan Presbyterian Church has a long history. Its towering Gothic architecture, with spires that seem to pierce the skyline, is truly spectacular. The church’s exterior is pristine and elegant, featuring a dignified twin-tower structure and a large, simple yet calming cross on the façade. Paired with its fan-shaped long staircase, the church exudes a solemn and otherworldly aura.
