The world’s most delicious Korean BBQ “Maple Tree” is coming to Taiwan – opening before June

Ranked 20th among Korean restaurants on TripAdvisor, Maple Tree House has been hailed by CNN as “the world’s most delicious Korean BBQ,” beloved by both locals and tourists. It opened its first overseas branch in Manila in 2016 and is now preparing to launch its Taipei branch, expected to open in the first half of this year, allowing Taiwanese food lovers to enjoy it without leaving the country.

Located in Samcheong-dong, South Korea, Maple Tree House specializes in Korean BBQ and Korean cuisine. Its exterior resembles a traditional Korean home and is surrounded by maple trees. In autumn, the abundance of crimson foliage attracts visitors, but once you step inside, the aroma of Korean BBQ greets you. Founder Paul, a Korean who grew up in Canada—the “Maple Leaf Country”—and whose flagship store is surrounded by maple trees, has a special fondness for the tree, hence the name Maple Tree House. Currently, it has branches in Myeongdong, Itaewon, and Gangnam in South Korea, plus the main store, totaling four locations.

Maple Tree House’s signature offering is beef, using premium Korean beef. Thickly sliced steaks are placed directly on the grill and tended to by staff to ensure the perfect level of doneness, delivering the most delicious BBQ experience. For pork, they use Jeju black pork, grilled until the skin is crispy, then served with Korean soybean paste, garlic, and kimchi wrapped in perilla leaves to offer an authentic taste of Korean BBQ.

Additionally, the restaurant offers limited-time lunch sets, such as spicy Jeju pork stir-fry and tabletop BBQ, providing diverse options for the lunch crowd. Paul said that since Koreans typically prefer stronger flavors in their BBQ and often balance it with a refreshing dish like naengmyeon (cold noodles), dishes such as kimchi cold noodles and bone broth are also among the popular menu items.
