Located in Fengshan District, Kaohsiung, “Dadong Wetland Park” features dense woods, clear lake water, and small fish swimming around, along with charming little waterfalls. Its tranquil atmosphere has earned it the nickname “Kaohsiung’s Forest of Forgetfulness,” making it a popular spot for photos. However, the wooden walkways over the water have deteriorated severely. Although the Fengshan Maintenance Engineering Team has begun repairs, the area will remain closed to the public after restoration for safety reasons.

Dadong Wetland Park covers approximately 9 hectares. After years of greening and renovation by the Kaohsiung City Government, it has become a beautiful wetland park. However, it has recently been discovered that many sections of the wooden walkways over the water are damaged and rotting, posing a risk of people accidentally falling into the pool. The Fengshan Maintenance Engineering Team has now started large-scale repairs, which are expected to be completed in about one to two months.

There will soon be one less beautiful spot to visit. (Photo / Kaohsiung Notebook)

For safety reasons, signs will be posted after the repairs are complete, and the wooden walkways will no longer be open to the public.
