The world’s tallest building is being reset as Dubai’s new tower becomes the world’s highest structure

Architecture around the world is evolving rapidly, with every country hoping to build the most talked-about structure—one that not only represents their nation as a new landmark but also showcases their country’s strength and technological prowess. Now, news from Dubai indicates that a new “Tower” (The Tower) will be constructed to replace the current tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and become the world’s tallest structure.

Previously, Iraq also revealed plans to construct the world’s tallest building, “The Bride,” which would stand at 1,152 meters—taller than the current tallest, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai—and become the most talked-about architectural landmark at the time, generating great anticipation.

This time, Dubai has announced that the new structure, named “The Tower,” will be designed by Spanish-born Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls. It will feature stunning elements such as a 360-degree observation deck and vertical sky gardens, along with breathtaking lighting effects. Currently under construction, the tower is expected to be completed by 2020, drawing significant attention.
