The World’s Cutest Broom Corn Appears – 4.5 Million Blooms Create a Romantic Sea of Flowers

Balls of incredibly cute broom corn form a spectacular sea of flowers, so soothing you’ll wish you could stay forever. Located in Ibaraki Prefecture, about a two-hour drive from Tokyo, “Hitachi Seaside Park” features diverse floral landscapes year-round. The most famous include the pink nemophila in mid-April and the broom corn in early October. The magnificent carpet of 4.5 million blooming broom corn plants is even hailed as one of the most romantic flower seas in the world and a must-see lifetime spectacle.

After the nemophila season ends each year, the broom corn takes the stage. Currently growing to around 70 cm tall, the area is already a lush green expanse. By late September to October, it will be in full bloom, presenting a stunning crimson sea of flowers that’s truly breathtaking.

Spanning 350 hectares, Hitachi Seaside Park is Japan’s largest national park. In addition to various flower zones, visitors can also enjoy the nearby children’s amusement park. Moreover, you can rent bicycles to ride along scenic bike paths or take the seaside train to cruise around while admiring the beautiful blue sea and white sandy beaches.
