A hidden canyon paradise in the suburbs of the city—Earthworm Pit, with astonishingly beautiful scenery

The hot weather makes many people think of playing in the water at the beach, enjoying the passionate beauty of the bay under the bright sunshine. However, besides the beaches, Taiwan also has mysterious canyons that offer a cool escape from the heat. Located in Shiding District, New Taipei City, Earthworm Pit is a narrow gorge about 120 meters long, with its winding stream being quite deep and emerald green, resembling an earthly paradise in the city and becoming a popular spot for visitors to swim and kayak.

Earthworm Pit features a narrow gorge terrain with unique stream landscapes, spectacular cliffs on both sides, and dense forests providing lush shade, giving visitors the illusion of being in a tropical rainforest, thus making it an excellent summer retreat.

When entering Earthworm Pit, you need to descend steep stone steps, with ropes provided for assistance. Moreover, the stones in the canyon are covered with moss, so caution is required when walking. In addition, the stream is deep and occasionally has fast currents, so it is recommended that visitors bring float boards or life rings, and avoid climbing or diving to prevent accidents.
