Typhoon Talim (No. 18) is intensifying and will impact Taiwan starting Wednesday

On the 11th, most areas in Taiwan, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, will mostly be cloudy to sunny, with localized brief thunderstorms in the afternoon in central and southern regions and other mountainous areas. Localized brief showers are also expected in southeastern regions and the Hengchun Peninsula.
After absorbing abundant moisture, Typhoon Talim could very likely strengthen into a super typhoon. Regardless of whether its path veers north or south, it is expected to make landfall in Taiwan, and may even pass through Taiwan before affecting areas such as Fujian and Guangzhou. The changes in its trajectory over the next couple of days are worth close attention. Those with upcoming travel plans should also monitor flight updates.
