Typhoon Talim may intensify into a severe typhoon and make landfall as early as Wednesday afternoon

Tropical Storm Talim (No. 18, international name TALIM), with its center located at 18.8°N, 134.8°E, is moving west-northwest at 29 km/h. Forecast tracks for the typhoon from various countries show a northward shift, with a high likelihood of it making landfall in the Yilan-Hualien area before veering northwest to affect northern Taiwan. In addition to possibly strengthening into a severe typhoon, its speed is also not to be underestimated. It could make landfall as early as Wednesday (13th) afternoon, so the entire country needs to prepare for the typhoon. Those planning to travel abroad or go out these days should also pay special attention to flight and transportation conditions.

The maximum wind speed near the center of Talim is 30 meters per second (equivalent to 108 km/h), corresponding to Force 11 winds, with gusts reaching up to 38 meters per second (equivalent to 137 km/h), corresponding to Force 13 winds. Additionally, attention should be paid to another tropical depression, Tropical Depression 1002 hPa, located at 14.5°N, 124.5°E, in the eastern Philippine Sea, moving west at 20 km/h. It has the potential to develop into a tropical storm. If it forms, it will be named Typhoon Doksuri (No. 19).This also warrants close attention in the coming days.
