Tainan City is hosting its first New Camp Sugar Refinery Landscape Art Festival from September 16 to October 15, lasting one month. Centered around the theme “Sugar. Essence. Time,” the event combines landscape art, small-farm creative markets, nostalgic music concerts, theatrical performances, and more, unfolding along the historical thread of the sugar refinery. Among the highlights are 12 iconic landscape installations at the sugar refinery that are truly eye-catching. Additionally, five must-photograph spots around the New Camp Sugar Refinery are recommended for visitors to explore.

1. New Camp Sugar Refinery Landscape Art

The inaugural New Camp Sugar Refinery Landscape Art Festival uses the history of the sugar industry as its cultural backdrop, with the curatorial theme of “Recreating Memories, Warmly Revived.” Through landscape display projects, it invites visitors to explore and understand the stories of the sugar refinery.

2. New Camp Railway Culture Park – Narrow-Gauge Train

In addition to the sightseeing leisure narrow-gauge train transformed from a sugarcane freight car, which runs from Zhongxing Station to Balaiye Station, the ice cream at the New Camp Sugar Refinery is another delicious treat visitors shouldn’t miss. The park also features various types of locomotives, such as steam trains, Demag, Hitachi, and Shunfeng brand diesel locomotives, track inspection cars, track maintenance cars, and sugarcane freight cars.
