The Red Bull Soapbox Race is an international event where racing enthusiasts compete in self-built soapbox cars. Amateur drivers race their homemade vehicles powered only by courage, gravity, and imagination. In this gravity-powered racing competition, both seasoned racers and amateurs create wild soapbox cars from scratch, racing down slopes against the clock and generating plenty of fun and entertainment. Since the first Soapbox Race held in Brussels, Belgium in 2000, Red Bull has organized countless such events around the world – including in Australia, South Africa, Jamaica, and Italy.

The Soapbox Race features an endless variety of vehicle designs. Past entries have included a piano, a giant doll stroller, a cowboy clown, an oversized corn cob, a prison cell, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Taiwan hosted its first-ever "Red Bull Soapbox Race" in 2013, attracting much attention and numerous sign-ups. This year, Taiwan is once again holding the "Red Bull Soapbox Race: Self-Made Imagination," taking place on October 1st from 13:00 to 17:00 at National Taiwan Sport University.
