Must-Visit New Topic in Japan: Limited-Time Totoro-Themed Tram

The popular Japanese manga character “Totoro” never fails to spark online buzz whenever there’s news of a new collaboration. Recently, Totoro teamed up with the Keifuku Arashiyama Electric Railway, Toei Kyoto Studio Park, and the Kyoto City Transportation Bureau to launch a major themed event titled “Totoro’s Relaxed Kyoto.” A one-of-a-kind Totoro-themed Arashiyama tram was introduced, along with two types of all-day unlimited ride Totoro-designed day passes, attracting numerous fans to line up for tickets.

This Totoro tram is not only adorned with Totoro decorations on the outside but also features them inside the carriages. The tram began operating on September 16 and will run until January 8, 2018. In addition to running along the Keifuku Electric Railway line, the event includes a stamp rally, themed tea houses, and limited-edition merchandise. Toei Kyoto Studio Park even offers a treasure hunt game.
