Even non-hipsters want to visit the Dadaocheng Rough Goods Exhibition, showcasing traditional Taiwanese and Japanese crafts.

This year’s third edition of the Dadaocheng International Arts Festival is in full swing, featuring themed performances, cosplay parades, performing arts markets, lecture series, and more—including 13 ticketed shows, over 20 lectures, and workshops. Among them, the "Dadaocheng Rough Goods Exhibition" brings together traditional crafts from veteran artisans and imports many simple, rustic rough goods from around the world to sell on the streets—definitely worth a visit.

Rough goods refer to unrefined, everyday objects made from pure materials and crafted using traditional techniques—such as bamboo baskets, wooden spoons, iron cookware, and ceramic tea sets. This year at the Dadaocheng International Arts Festival, Earthing Way has gathered various Taiwanese rough goods and displayed them along Qingyi Square on Minle Street in Dadaocheng. They’ve also invited contemporary Taiwanese artisans and scholars to host lectures and workshops, hoping to help the public better understand Taiwan’s daily utensils and experience the traces of Taiwanese rough goods culture.
