The Zhongshan Overpass in Keelung, with its nostalgic retro atmosphere and the illuminated corridor, has served as a backdrop for numerous well-known films, such as Hou Hsiao-hsien’s “Millennium Mambo” starring Golden Horse Award winner Shu Qi and the Korean film “Work” starring a Korean acting legend. The Keelung City Government recently held a briefing on the reconstruction of Zhongshan Bridge and decided to demolish the Zhongshan Overpass. Netizens who haven’t had a chance to take photos or check in should seize the final opportunity.

The Zhongshan Overpass, which connects Zhong’er Road and An’yi Road and is located next to Keelung’s old train station, was once a necessary passage for those returning home late at night. In 2013, there was a collapse incident on the overpass, and after repairs, the new and old sections were joined together. Since you can walk down the stairs from the intersection of An’yi Road and reach the south station of the train station, the pedestrian overpass will be demolished around the Lunar New Year.
