The classic taste of MAiSEN Maisen Tonkatsu – the "Black no Shokunin" black pork from Kagoshima, Japan. This premium pork is the result of crossbreeding purebred Berkshire pigs, registered by the Japan Pig Registration Association, and is raised in Kagoshima Prefecture’s warm climate. From breeding and production to processing and distribution, every step follows a consistent production philosophy to ensure high quality and stability. MAiSEN selects the "tenderloin" and "chuck roll" cuts from Kagoshima’s "Black no Shokunin" to make its tonkatsu. With its tender, fine-grained texture, melt-in-your-mouth richness, and juicy flavor that bursts with sweetness, it delivers an exceptional taste. In addition, MAiSEN offers a popular takeout item: the chūtan (tenderloin) tonkatsu sandwich, made with carefully chosen chūtan tonkatsu slices and soft bread, topped with a signature sandwich sauce, perfectly balanced to become a long-standing fan favorite.

MAiSEN’s most cherished signature dish, the Tonkatsu Trio, is inspired by the Japanese style of eating unagi (eel) in three ways. The trio presents the tonkatsu cut into bite-sized pieces served over white rice sprinkled with seaweed. The “trio” refers to three different ways of enjoying it: First, eat the tonkatsu with the rice to enjoy its crispy exterior and tender interior. Second, sprinkle green onions, sesame seeds, and mustard over the rice and tonkatsu, mix well, and enjoy the subtle spiciness of the mustard and the aroma of the green onions enhancing the umami. Third, pour over a specially prepared Japanese-style broth to turn it into a tonkatsu ochazuke (rice with tea), a simple yet deeply satisfying traditional flavor.
