The most anticipated New Year’s celebration in southern Taiwan — the E-DA World countdown event — will this year feature the ‘first-ever dual fireworks show in Taiwan’ to wow the night away. At 11:16 PM on December 31st, a spectacular 36-minute magical welcome fireworks show will be launched first, followed by Taiwan’s longest 999-second music and art-themed New Year’s Eve fireworks at midnight. This year, combining dazzling light effects with captivating ambient music, the show will set a new record across Taiwan with a total duration of 52 minutes and 39 seconds.

Since 2016, the E-DA World New Year’s Eve celebration has transformed its format, striving to deliver innovative and thrilling fireworks displays that grow more spectacular each year. In 2016, it set a record with an 888-second show, the longest in Taiwan at the time; in 2017, that increased to 999 seconds, attracting over 100,000 attendees. This year, aiming to double the fun, the organizers have added an extended pre-show fireworks warm-up — the first in Taiwan with a 36-minute welcome fireworks display — alongside the midnight 999-second New Year’s Eve fireworks. Double the fireworks, double the fun, ensuring the audience enjoys a visual feast and an atmosphere pumped up to the max.

The 2018 E-DA World New Year’s Eve fireworks emphasize innovation, technology, environmental responsibility, and artistry. In addition to using only low-carbon, low-sulfur, and low-pollution high-standard fireworks, this year’s show also incorporates dynamic lighting effects on par with international performance standards. The vibrant, three-dimensional beams of light create a dreamy and ever-changing atmosphere, adding layers of spectacle to the fireworks and making the overall audiovisual experience even more colorful and mesmerizing.
