The Grassland Lecture Hall is incredibly healing – a new international architectural landmark

Recently, Taipei has gained a new cultural destination. The Chungtai Group has integrated architecture, creative living, and cultural education across disciplines to create the "Chungtai Complex JUT COMPLEX," which brings together an art museum, public art, and a mixed-use mall. Among its features, the dreamlike Grassland Lecture Hall showcases a perfect fusion of art and living space, challenging conventional thinking about urban spaces.

The Chungtai Complex invited the world-renowned Dutch architectural firm MVRDV to collaborate with internationally acclaimed Argentine wool textile artist Alexandra Kehayoglou in creating this distinctive lecture hall covered entirely in turf, making it a new international landmark in Taipei. The hall accommodates 176 people and draws inspiration from Taiwan’s high mountain geological features, giving visitors the feeling of listening to a lecture in nature.

In addition, the Chungtai Museum of Art has launched its third exhibition, “Ten Years: Our Urban Imagination and Adventure,” with exhibition areas spanning both the Chungtai Museum of Art and the Shin-Fu Market. It showcases creativity inspired by Taipei. Meanwhile, the Grassland Lecture Hall is located on the seventh floor of the Chungtai Complex, while the first-floor Future Bazaar Street Block integrates MOT CASA (MOT HOME), MOT FLOWER (MOT FLORAL), and the first-ever lifestyle concept store MOT SELECT, all opened this year, forming a brand-new urban streetscape.
