With the arrival of cold air in late autumn and a sudden drop in temperatures, maple leaf season is gradually arriving across Taiwan. The first touch of red has appeared at the Shanlinxi Forest Recreation Area in Nantou, where vast swathes of fiery red maple leaves glow brilliantly under the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing and intoxicating sight. The maple leaves at Shanlinxi are gradually turning red, with the viewing period extending through December. Visitors eager to witness the beautiful red foliage should seize the opportunity.

In addition to the maple leaves starting to turn red, the dawn redwood forest at Shanlinxi has also entered its golden season. Meanwhile, fireflies have begun appearing in the park during autumn and winter. Starting from November 1, free guided tours are available every day after nightfall at 18:30. From November onward, there are also nightly astronomical stargazing guided tours held at 19:30.
