U.S. President Trump visited Japan on November 4 for a two-day stay that generated significant buzz. Aside from playing golf with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the Kasumigaseki Country Club, the dinner the two leaders shared with their wives at a Ginza restaurant also became a hot topic, sparking widespread discussion about this high-end teppanyaki spot in Ginza, which saw a sudden surge in popularity and attention.

This restaurant in Ginza is a Michelin one-star teppanyaki establishment — the world’s only teppanyaki restaurant with Michelin recognition. Located on the first floor of the Jiji Press Building, it is called Ginza Ukai-tei, with prices ranging from 19,440 yen to 29,160 yen. Adding drinks and other items, the cost per person is around 30,000 yen. The warm interaction between Trump and Prime Minister Abe clearly reflects their close rapport.

UKAI TEI (Ukai Teppanyaki) is the high-end restaurant introduced by this five-star hotel, targeting the consumption power of southern Taiwan. Since its launch, it has drawn significant attention from food enthusiasts. This time, with Trump’s visit to Japan and the Japanese PM’s dinner held at the Ginza flagship store, it has once again garnered major attention.

According to a report by the Nikkei, Trump and Abe had four meals together over the two days (two lunches and two dinners), while Trump’s wife shopped at a high-end jewelry store in Ginza accompanied by Abe’s wife. The street was cleared, drawing attention from passersby. After his two-day stay in Japan, Trump flew to South Korea for a one-day visit.
